Overview

The service,
in plain terms.

What it is

Ongoing upkeep of your outdoor space, delivered on a set schedule. That means grass cutting, hedge and shrub trimming, edging, weeding, leaf clearance and seasonal tidying, all in one visit, priced per job, with cuttings and green waste taken away.

Who it's for

Homeowners who want the garden to always look looked after without having to think about it, landlords keeping rental properties presentable between tenants, and commercial premises like restaurants, hotels and gyms where the outdoor space is the first thing a customer sees.

When you need it

Once the grass is growing (typically March through October in the Highlands) a fortnightly cut is the sweet spot. Monthly visits suit tidier gardens or the shoulder months. One-off tidy-ups work for holiday lets, pre-sale prep, or when a garden has run away from you.

Why professional matters

A garden left too long between visits needs cutting on the highest setting, produces mountains of clippings, and looks worse for weeks after. A regular round keeps the mower on a proper cut height, keeps hedges in shape, and stops small issues (weed patches, ragged edges, overhanging branches) becoming big jobs.

What happens if you leave it

The cost of
putting it off.

Grass gets away from you

Two weeks of Highland rain and warmth turns a neat lawn into a hay field. Cutting long grass on a high setting yellows the sward, blocks the mower, and takes twice as long to tidy, every time.

Hedges grow into eyesores

Left one season too long, a formal hedge becomes woody at the base and won't recover cleanly when you finally trim it. Regular light cuts keep dense, healthy growth top to bottom.

Weeds, moss and edges creep

Beds start to blend into the lawn, weeds seed everywhere, and moss gets a hold on damp paving. The longer you leave it, the more expensive the reset job becomes.

Why it's worth it

What you actually
get for the money.

Zero mental load

The visit happens on schedule. You don't book it, remind us, or think about it, it's simply done.

A healthier garden

Little-and-often cuts keep the grass thicker, greener and more resistant to moss and weeds than sporadic long-grass hacks.

Cheaper over the year

Regular visits cost less per cut than emergency rescue jobs, and stop the garden becoming a big, expensive reset every spring.

Kerb appeal, consistently

For landlords, holiday lets and commercial premises: the outside always presents well, no matter when a guest or customer arrives.

No waste left behind

All clippings, prunings and leaf debris cleared and removed as part of the visit. You never have to deal with the mess.

The same team every time

A core team of two who know your garden, your gate code, and how you like it kept, not a rotating cast of subcontractors.

Our process

How the job
gets done.

  1. 01

    Free walkaround & quote

We visit (or work from photos for smaller gardens), agree the scope, and give you a fixed per-visit price with no surprises.

  2. 02

    Regular slot booked in

Fortnightly or monthly, same team, same day of the week where possible, so it becomes background noise you never have to chase.

  3. 03

    Full-garden visit

Grass cut, edges done, hedges topped, beds weeded, paths swept, the whole space treated as one job.

  4. 04

    All cuttings cleared

Green waste bagged and taken away in the van. You come home to a finished garden, not a heap of bagged clippings.

  5. 05

    Job logged & invoiced

Simple invoice after each visit. Cash or bank transfer, no card fees, no direct debit lock-in.

What's included in a standard maintenance visit

A typical fortnightly visit covers grass cutting to your preferred height, strimming around obstacles, edging along beds and paths, weeding of visible beds, light hedge and shrub tidying, sweeping of paths and patios, and full removal of all green waste. For monthly visits we build in more time for hedges, deeper weeding and seasonal tasks like leaf clearance in autumn or spring bed prep. Everything on the list is delivered in one visit, you're not paying for multiple call-outs.

Fortnightly vs monthly: which suits your garden

Fortnightly rounds suit anyone with a lawn that grows fast in season, that's most Highland gardens from April to September. Monthly rounds work for smaller courtyard gardens, gravelled or hard-landscaped plots, or during the shoulder months when growth slows. If you're unsure, we'll suggest a schedule at the quote stage and adjust it after the first few visits based on how the garden actually behaves.

Commercial garden maintenance

We hold ongoing maintenance contracts for restaurants, hotels and gyms across the Highlands. Commercial visits are scheduled around your opening hours (early mornings and evenings work well), invoiced monthly, and prioritised, because a hotel front lawn or restaurant beer garden can't be left overgrown for a week while we fit you in. If you manage a commercial property and want a single team looking after all outdoor upkeep, get in touch.

Seasonal tasks we handle within the round

Beyond grass and hedges, we cover the wider garden rhythm across the year: bed weeding through spring and summer, deadheading and shrub tidying, autumn leaf clearance, cutting back perennials at the end of the season, and light winter tidy-ups. If you'd like specific tasks handled inside the visit (bulb planting, mulch top-ups, gutter clearance where accessible) tell us at the quote and we'll factor it in.

No lock-in, cancel anytime

There's no contract to sign for residential maintenance. You can pause visits over winter, cancel at any point, or scale from fortnightly to monthly as the garden dictates. Payment is per visit, cash or bank transfer, after each round. Commercial arrangements can be structured differently if you'd prefer monthly invoicing.

FAQ

Common
questions.

Straight answers on cost, timing, materials and what happens after the job's done. Anything else, call 07398 794085.

How much does regular garden maintenance cost?+
Every garden is different so we price per visit rather than by a fixed hourly rate. Cost depends on garden size, what's included (grass only vs full garden), and visit frequency, fortnightly rounds are cheaper per visit than one-offs because we're not resetting an overgrown space each time. Send a few photos or book a quick site visit and you'll have a fixed per-visit price the same day.
Do I have to sign a contract?+
No. For residential customers there's no contract and no lock-in. You can cancel or pause visits at any time (for example over winter) and restart in spring. Commercial customers usually prefer a rolling monthly arrangement, but that's still cancellable with sensible notice.
How often should my garden be cut?+
In the Highlands, most lawns need cutting every 10–14 days from April through September. Very small or slow-growing lawns can stretch to monthly. Ornamental gardens with a lot of planting usually benefit from fortnightly visits so beds, edges and hedges stay ahead of the growth curve.
What happens to the grass clippings and hedge cuttings?+
All green waste is bagged and taken away in the van as part of the visit. You don't need a garden waste bin, and we don't leave piles behind for you to deal with.
Do you cut in the rain?+
Light rain, yes, Highland gardens would never get cut otherwise. Heavy rain or waterlogged ground, no; we reschedule for the next dry day, usually within 48 hours, so your slot doesn't slip a fortnight.
Can you look after the garden while I'm away?+
Yes. Regular customers frequently give us a gate code or key access so visits happen whether they're home or not. You come back to a tidy garden without ever having to arrange it around your travel.
Do you offer garden maintenance outside Inverness?+
Yes. We run maintenance rounds across Nairn, Dingwall, Alness, Invergordon, the Black Isle, Muir of Ord, Beauly and Aviemore. Costs are the same as Inverness for most of that footprint.
What if my garden has been left too long to start a regular round?+
We handle a one-off reset first, an initial tidy or full clearance to bring the garden back to a maintainable state, and then start the fortnightly or monthly rounds from that baseline. This is quoted separately from the regular per-visit price.
